Meet Laura Cortes, Summerside Director
Laura has worked at a summer camp for 19 years and has always attended camp throughout her childhood. After receiving her BA in Business, she continued on to complete her Early Education Certification.  Laura has worked at SCH Academy for over 5 years, starting out as an Assistant Teacher and has been work in SCH Auxiliary Department for 3 years.

Meet Auxiliary Programs Assistant Kathy Huff
Kathy comes to Summerside with many years of camp experience. She also has 23+ years as a teacher! Kathy joined SCH in 2018 as a full-time employee working in our Auxiliary Department.

Summerside Camps: June 8 - August 21, 2020 (11 weeks of programming)

7:30 - 8:30am Early Bird Drop-off ($5/day)
8:30 - 9:00am Camp Drop-off
9:00 - 3:00pm Camp Day
3:00 - 3:30pm Camp Dismissal
3:30 - 6:00pm After Care ($25/day)

Summerside Camp tuition ranges from $365-$495. Please refer to the specific camp descriptions to review the cost per camp offering.
Discounts and Payment Plans
Multi-Week Discount: Families that register for 7 or more weeks at Summerside, will receive FREE AFTERCARE! (Multi-Week Discount will be applied AFTER registration)

Multi-Sibling Discount: Families registering 2 or more campers will receive $25 off each week after registering their first camper. (This discount cannot be combined with any other discount, including Early Bird Registration)

Payment Options
: Families can either pay in full or opt for our 4x payment or 3x payment plans. These plans can be found at check-out. 
Cancellations and Refunds
Summerside Camps will issue refunds within the following parameters:

Refund requests made between Dec. 18, 2019 - March 31, 2020, will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
Refund requests made between April 1 - April 30, 2020, will incur a $75 cancellation fee. 
Refund requests made between May 1 - June 1, 2020, will incur a $100 cancellation fee. 
No refund will be issued AFTER June 1, 2020.

Transportation Service
New this summer! The same trusted car service the school uses to help our Center City families with their transportation needs during the school year—the SCHuttle—will be providing ride options for campers during the summer months.  Whether your camper is heading through Center City by way of South Philly, West Philly, NoLibs/Fishtown, Mount Airy & Chestnut Hill, the SCHuttle is there for you (additional routes are available on request). Families have the option for weekly bookings, round-trip, or one-way.

Summerside Counselors:
Our trained and experienced staff will ensure campers are safe, happy and have the best summer ever.  You can trust that your children will not only have fun at Summerside Camps, but they are safe all summer.  Our team of qualified professionals has the experience and knowledge to care for your children and provide quality programming to keep them stimulated and engaged each day.  Our full-time directors are dedicated to creating an environment where campers will flourish and have fun.  Their goal is to develop programming that strengthens campers’ confidence and provides an inclusive community where kids can gain life-long friendships. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy faculty lead many of the Summerside Camps. They have a passion for teaching along with helping children reach their potential. And our trained coaches build teamwork, sportsmanship and work with every athlete to improve their skills.

All Summerside staff meet PA Certification Requirements per law and have received pre-season training as well as other professional development throughout the camp season.  

Please know you can quickly identify the following types of staff based on the shirt they are wearing:
• ​Director of Summer Programs = White Summerside Polo Shirt
• Camp Instructors = Light Blue Summerside Polo Shirt
• Camp Counselors = Red Summerside T-shirt, STAFF on the back

  To ensure the carline runs safely and effectively, we ask that you remain in your car during drop-off (8:30-9:00 AM) and pick-up (3:00-3:30 PM). Counselors will help buckle your child into their seats. Parking for walk-in is located in the Cherokee Lot, adjacent to McCausland. 

Before + After Care pick-up and drop-off is in the same location. We ask that you park and walk your camper inside. All campers will need to be signed-in at the desk after 9:00 am and signed-out at the desk after 3:30 pm.
